This year’s Europe Music Awards (EMA) will be presented on November 13, 2022 in the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf. Further information about the line-up and the presenter is not yet known. There is already a reaction from the mayor of Düsseldorf.
Stephan Keller from the CDU proudly expressed himself after the announcement of the venue:
“The fact that the MTV EMAs are coming to Düsseldorf this year is great news for the whole city. This November, the international music focus will be on the state capital, which will become the hotspot of modern pop culture,” said Keller.
MTV EMAs
The MTV Europe Music Awards took place for the first time in 1994 – back then in Berlin. Since then, the annual event has been broadcast from various European cities such as Rome, London, Barcelona, Lisbon and Copenhagen. The EMAs last took place on November 14, 2021 in Budapest. American singer and rapper Saweetie hosted the show.
The event is considered the counterpart to the US MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). Various domestic artists from European countries are honored through the international categories. The election takes place online as a voting.
