Real Madrid failed to win its last official game before the Champions League final on Friday. The team of coach Carlo Ancelotti did not go further than 0-0 against Real Betis in his last league game of the season in La Liga.
Real Madrid already secured the 35th league title at the end of April and played the last game of the season for the emperor’s beard. Nevertheless, ‘De Koninklijke’ appeared in the strongest line-up against Betis.
Real had a lot of opportunities in their own Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, but did not have their sights on sharp. Karim Benzema in particular failed to help his team finish in style.
Marcelo and Isco said goodbye to the public in Madrid. The Brazilian and the Spaniard played their last match for Real in their own stadium and got a crowd change twenty minutes before the end. Gareth Bale will also leave Real after this season, but he was not part of the selection.
Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the Champions League final next Saturday. The match in Paris starts at 9 p.m.
