Eintracht Frankfurt has apparently taken the first steps in squad planning after the triumph in the Europa League. Supposedly one agrees with a striker from VfL Bochum. But the transfer is still stuck.
In order to have even more breadth in the squad in the future, Eintracht Frankfurt wants to sign Sebastian Polter from VfL Bochum, according to consistent media reports. Accordingly, there is already an agreement with the Westphalia club’s scorer, the framework data with the experienced offensive man have been clarified. As “Bild” and “Sky” report, the 31-year-old should sign by 2025.
The problem: Those responsible at Eintracht Frankfurt have not yet come to an agreement with VfL Bochum on the transfer fee. Polter, who still has a contract with his current club until 2023, should cost between one and two million euros.
Eintracht Frankfurt wants Polter, VfL Bochum is still hesitating
Too little for Bochum? Possible. Because so far, the bosses of VfL are still hesitant to accept the offer for the attacker.
Allegedly, this is not only due to the possibly too low transfer fee, but also because Bochum’s managing director Sebastian Schindzielorz is being courted by other clubs. The head of sports is under discussion at VfL Wolfsburg, among others.
Nevertheless, it is expected that the transfer will be completed by the weekend, after all the talks have been going on for weeks.
In the past season, Polter contributed to VfL Bochum’s safe relegation with good performances and above all with goals. The 31-year-old can claim eleven goals and three assists in 36 cross-competition games.
Polter only moved to the Ruhr area from Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands last summer.
