Beau van Erven Dorens does not know how to bend the low viewing figures that his predecessor Eva Jinek has left behind. According to direct competitor Johan Derksen, he is in a panic because of the low scores.
The viewing figures of the late talk show on RTL 4 have not been going well for some time. After Eva Jinek, it is currently Beau van Erven Dorens who puts down meager scores. And now that the men of Today Inside are back on television, the presenter sees his viewer numbers drop completely hard.
‘Beau is in a panic’
The VI effect on Beau’s ratings is enormous. Yesterday, the presenter almost dropped out of the top 15 viewership with a score of 486 thousand viewers (13% market share). On the same broadcast evening a week ago, when VI was still on candle break, 703 thousand people watched Beau. That means that 31 percent of the people have dropped out.
Johan Derksen thinks that panic has struck Beau, especially when he saw a Jack Sparrow impersonator sitting at the table on Tuesday. “If you get people like this on TV, that’s a sign that such an entire organization is in a panic because of the ratings, because yes… Crazy house, huh?”, he responds in VI.
‘Bad for Marc-Marie!’
It is unbelievable, also thinks René van der Gijp. “But you know? This isn’t fun for Marc-Marie either. He couldn’t and then they take the next best man. You have to see how you stand there!”
René also points to the guest who sat at the table to talk about black holes. “That man has been speaking for twenty minutes and I am sure that the whole of the Netherlands has not understood anything.”
Johan: “No, then I started zapping, yes.”
Wilfred Genee: “At moments like this you understand why they missed us!”
Johan: “I don’t want to beat myself up, but then we would rather have a nice anecdote.”
Today Inside at the head
The men of Today Inside are in the lead. They also made the most watched talk show in the country yesterday. 789 thousand people (19%) watched the broadcast on SBS 6. Only then does Op1 follow with 681 thousand viewers (20%) and Beau with 486 thousand viewers (13%).
The eve talk shows were even worse. Khalid & Sophie got no further than 372 thousand viewers (13%) and HLF8 got stuck at 264 thousand viewers (8%). In terms of viewing figures, it is completely inexplicable why these programs are still broadcast on television.
Paul disappoints
The big winner of the evening was Tussen Kunst en Kitsch with 1.4 million viewers (33%) on NPO 1. The prime time silver is for VI and the bronze for the Veronica match Eintracht – Glasgow Rangers with 515 thousand viewers ( 15%).
The other prime-time broadcasts most viewed were NPO 1’s Busje Komt Zo with 510 thousand viewers (12%) and NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur with 451 thousand viewers (11%). Only then will the RTL 4 combination Addicted (427 thousand viewers and 10%) and Love is in the Air (416 thousand viewers and 10%) follow.
Oops, half a million viewers for Paul de Leeuw’s Busje Comes So. Not good either, notes former SBS 6 boss Tina Nijkamp. “Ow, bad score. 900 thousand viewers zap away after Frits Sissing. The first season was on Thursday after Ik Departure. Perhaps a better broadcasting place in terms of viewers for this program. And then there was no competition from Today Inside.”
Viewing figures
Other programs that did not make the top 15 include Time for MAX (409 thousand), Shownieuws (397 thousand), Dutch celebrities in the hospital (374 thousand) and 112 Today (370 thousand).
