The doctors have canceled two of their upcoming Berlin concerts. The planned show in the Metropol on May 20th and in the Columbiahalle on May 21st are affected. Previously, the concert in the Festsaal Kreuzberg had to be moved from May 17th to June 21st.
The band explains on their website: “The hope was great, but there was no serious improvement: As a result, we unfortunately have to postpone the next two shows in the Metropol (May 20th, 2022) and in the Columbiahalle (May 21st, 2022) due to illness. We are currently looking for alternative dates and will inform you immediately about any news at this point.”
There was an update on Thursday afternoon: New dates for both concerts have now been set. Their announcement is accompanied by a video and audio message from Die Ärzte.
The new dates:
- 06/29/2022 Columbia Hall
- 06.09.2022 metropolitan
For over a week now, Die Ärzte have been playing a series of concerts in the federal capital – after nine years of not having been on a Berlin stage. Starting on May 7th in the super small location “Schokoladen” (130 fans), their “Berlin Tour MMXXII” should also lead Die Ärzte to SO36 (850 fans) and the Columbiahalle (3500 fans). A stark contrast to the stadium tour beginning in June, where the band will again play in front of tens of thousands. In addition to the particularly intimate atmosphere, the band hopes that the campaign will also support the small concert locations that have been badly hit by the corona pandemic and the employees of the art and culture scene.
