It’s been six years since the former Wolfsburg player Riechedly Bazoer (25) played his last game in the national jersey of the Dutch “Elftal” – he has been playing for Vitesse Arnhem since 2019. If the central defender has his way, the 2-0 win against Austria in June 2016 should not have been his last appearance for “Oranje” – to increase the chances of a comeback under Louis van Gaal and a jump on the World Cup train to Qatar, Bazoer is aiming for a change in the summer. The newspaper brings almost a dozen clubs into play that deal with the defender, whose contract with Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem ends on June 30 after three years and exactly 100 competitive games: Olympique Marseille, LOSC Lille, AS Monaco, Olympique Lyon , AS Roma, US Sassuolo, AC Florenz as well as the German clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart.

At Vitesse, the 25-year-old, who was once considered one of the greatest Dutch defensive talents, played more in the center of defence. Bazoer was no longer able to confirm his highest market value of 15 million euros, which he had achieved at the age of 19 as a result of his move from Ajax to Wolfsburg. In the summer, Bazoer now wants to start a new attempt outside of the Eredivisie: “I want to play for titles and make sporting progress on a personal level.”
