1. FC Köln are keeping the former Mainz central defender Luca Kilian (22) after a one-year loan. As the billy goats announced on Tuesday, the cathedral city is using the anchored purchase option, the amount of which coach Steffen Baumgart recently revealed. Kilian’s contract with FC is valid until the summer of 2025.
“After last season, it was clear to me that I would like to stay in Cologne and I’m very happy that it worked out and that I can continue here,” said Kilian about his move and emphasized: “At FC I have everything that I need I need: A great team, a great coach, great fans. FC Managing Director Christian Keller explained: “Last season Luca immediately established himself as a regular player. However, he is still a long way from the end of his development.
