The president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, has vindicated his first Government, of a continuation nature, as the “most experienced” and with a “proven track record”. “What works well should not be touched, it should be complemented,” he has said.
In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, held this Monday at the Pazo de Raxoi in Santiago, the new head of the Galician Executive has urged his 11 ministers to “continue working as before”but “if possible, improve even more.
The first Rueda Government has started this Monday with the oaths and promises of the position, after which it will hold the first meeting of the Council of the Xunta.
Nine of the eleven conselleiros have sworn the position and the other two have promised it in the act of inauguration of the first Government of Alfonso Rueda, who takes the reins of the Xunta after the departure of Alberto Núñez Feijóo in the middle of the XI Legislature.
Specifically, they have chosen to swear in the position of the First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, Francisco Conde; the Regional Minister for the Environment, Territory and Housing, Ángeles Vázquez; Infrastructure and Mobility, Ethel Vázquez; Finance and Public Administration, Miguel Corgos; the one of Culture, Education, FP and Universities, Román Rodríguez; the Promotion of Employment and Equality, María Jesús Lorenzana; that of Social Policy and Youth, Fabiola García; the Rural Environment, José González; and that of Mar, Rosa Quintana.
In the meantime, they have promised the Second Vice President and Councilor for the Presidency, Justice and Sport, Diego Calvo, who is the only incorporation to the Executive of the Xunta; and the Minister of Health, Julio García Comesaña.
In a solemn act held in the Pazo de Raxoi, both the new president Alfonso Rueda and the 11 members of his Executive have posed before the cameras in their first official photo as Government and, immediately afterwards, they will hold the first meeting of the Council.
