Despite a 4-1 victory over the women of Feyenoord, Ajax Women seems to be eliminated in the title race. Competitor and leader FC Twente won 3-0 against PSV and is now unofficial national champion.
Ajax quickly made short work of Feyenoord. Within sixteen minutes it was already 0-3. Romée Leuchter, Nikita Tromp and Chasity Grant scored the goals. Kim Hendriks then scored against, but thanks to Victoria Pelova the margin was quickly again three.
After the break, coach Danny Schenkel’s team had many opportunities. However, it was not possible to score more goals. For the record number of spectators of 14,618, it remained at five goals.
Twente unofficial champion
Because FC Twente also won, the difference remains three points in favor of the Tukkers. On Friday Ajax Women will play at home against the leader in the last round. It will probably not be exciting anymore, because Ajax only becomes national champion with a win with ten goals difference.
