Homes evacuated in Laak in connection with possible gas leak | NOW

A number of homes in the Schlegelstraat in The Hague were evacuated on Thursday evening in connection with a possible gas leak. It is believed to be a gas leak underground near one of the lampposts.

The incident started around 9.30 pm in the Laak district of The Hague. The fire brigade quickly arrived on the scene and Stedin is also present in the street to detect the possible leak. The Schlegelstraat is currently open due to work.

The fire service says it is expected that the work will take another three hours. The municipality has been called in to accommodate the residents.
