May Aalto was bullied at school and in the military, and has also encountered bullying in working life and politics. The former chairman of the Greens – and the current director of public relations for the Association of Pharmacists – is today Sean Ricksin as a guest on Friday.
– Bullying is a much more diverse thing than someone pushing another at school. Bullying is repeated everywhere in society, in different places and in different forms, and people, bullies or bullies do not always even recognize it, Aalto reflects in the broadcast.
During school, he was pushed and excluded. Aalto’s backpack got a ride, as did a bicycle.
– The same phenomena happen in work, in the army, in politics. It is both passive and active bullying. I don’t want to sacrifice, but yes it affects the psyche, that’s a clear thing, Aalto admits.
He suspects that bullying even affects democracy. For example, social media can be ruthless. It may become a threshold issue for some, and they will not dare stand for election.
– The loudest storms silence the others, and no one is safe. It affects the diversity of society and who is heard and who is not, Aalto points out in the program.
