Football player Kerkdijk returns to FC Twente

Football player Danique Kerkdijk will play at FC Twente again next season. The 26-year-old defender returns to the club from Enschede after a few years with Bristol City and Brighton & Hove Albion in the English league. Kerkdijk previously played for FC Twente from 2012 to 2017.

The defender played 18 times for the Orange squad. She was part of the Dutch national team that finished second at the 2019 World Cup.

“Over the past five years I have been able to develop well as a person and as a football player in England. In those years I also missed many things such as spending time with family and friends,” Kerkdijk said. “Football is great fun, but I also want to be close to them. That is one of the main reasons for playing in the Netherlands again. At FC Twente I always had a good time and was able to achieve great successes. therefore not a difficult choice to play for this club again.”
