The squash players of Meersquash from Hoofddorp can become national champions tonight for the first time in 25 years. Opponent is GT/Victoria from Rotterdam. Number one in the world, Paul Coll, is participating in the North Holland team.
“We came in second and third a number of times. Now we have a chance to win. That would of course be great,” said player Bart Ravelli.
“It gives the team an extra boost that the number one in the world is on your team”
trump card
The North Hollanders have an important trump card. The number one in the world, New Zealander Paul Coll, is flown in for the final. “That’s a machine. You can only respect what he does on track. It gives the team an extra boost that the number one in the world is in your team,” says Ravelli.
