The auction of the estate of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld in Cologne achieved 4.2 million euros. The auction house Sotheby’s announced on Monday that this was seven times the preliminary estimate.

Together with the previous auctions in Monaco and Paris, the proceeds amount to 22.5 million euros. The auction in Cologne was the first live auction in Sotheby’s new German headquarters. According to Sotheby’s, it is the only international auction house to hold auctions in Germany. Lagerfeld died in 2019. (dpa)
