The team with the best record pays a visit to the team with the second worst, after Orlando, of the NBA. A decidedly complicated match for the Pistons (10-32) becomes a Tourmalet with Booker who immediately finds rhythm and becomes unstoppable for the Detroit defense. In the end the Suns (33-9) easily win 135-108.
the match
–
It starts with a very high pace and with the attacks that have the better of the defenses. Booker does what he wants and offensive level, the rookie of wonders Cunningham tries to answer, with the entry of Lyles then Detroit always seems to be able to find good solutions in attack but in the second quarter Phoenix’s defense changes register. Ayton has to throw in the towel for a problem with his right ankle, but the Suns defend much better in the second period and take the reins of the match. The hosts try to keep the pace high but it is a big risk against the CP3 and teammates who punish the Detroit defense regularly, giving much less than in the first minutes of the match. Booker remains very hot even when he returns to the court in the middle of the second quarter, Phoenix closes the first half with a crescendo and thus goes to the rest ahead of 10 lengths after having shot with an excellent 60% from the field in the first half. Meanwhile, at half-time, Devin Booker already has 21 points on the scoresheet thanks to an excellent 9/11 shooting. No Ayton no problem: McGee, his backup, in fact, is exalted at the beginning of the second half and with 10 points in the first five minutes of the third quarter pushes the guests to a comfortable +19. The rest is academy with the Suns in full control of the match. To be reported only the second technician for Cunningham which then takes him to the shower early.
