After the bursting of their international dreams, the basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have solved their league task with confidence.
With a 77:65 (39:32) at ratiopharm Ulm on Friday, coach Andrea Trinchieri’s team saved the chance of second place in the table at the end of the round of points – and thus of home advantage in a possible play-off semi-final.
On Tuesday, Bayern lost the decisive fifth EuroLeague quarterfinals at FC Barcelona. Three days later, Vladimir Lucic was Munich’s top scorer with 17 points.
There was also new movement in the play-off fight on Friday: due to several corona cases at the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig, the game against champion Alba Berlin scheduled for Sunday was canceled.
A rescheduling is not possible due to time constraints. Therefore, the final table is calculated according to the quotient rule.
Berlin is first with 52:12 points. For the lions, it is no longer about anything sporty.
