Early double strike: Düsseldorf quickly clearly ahead
After just a few minutes, Düsseldorf was 2-0 up. Emmanuel Iyoha completed an assist from Felix Klaus from the right with a low shot into the left corner (3′). Matthias Zimmermann raised a little later: again Klaus provided the template on the right side, Zimmermann only had to insert (10th). Klaus later hit the post (31st). Darmstadt only had better opportunities just before the break.

Darmstadt came out better at half-time and after further opportunities to connect. Tobias Kempe converted a penalty kick on the bottom left after Luca Pfeiffer was fouled by the hurrying out Düsseldorf goalkeeper Kastenmeier. Darmstadt missed several good chances, the equalizer was no longer possible.
Both teams finished the game with ten players. After a duel, Darmstadt’s Klaus Gjasula saw yellow-red, Daniel Ginczek red for kicking in the same scene (87th).
Darmstadt now against Paderborn, Düsseldorf near St. Pauli
On the last day of the game, both teams remain involved in their own way in the battle for promotion. Darmstadt needs a win in the home game against Paderborn in the fight for the top places, Düsseldorf plays at St. Pauli, a candidate for promotion. All games will kick off at 3.30pm on May 15th.
