Eight years in prison for hostage in Bruges prison
Faton S. (30) used a homemade stab weapon to hold a female jailer hostage for hours in February 2021. He did this to demand the release of his brother and his father, who are in other prisons. He demanded a helicopter for himself. After extensive negotiations, the Kosovar finally surrendered. The warden got off with a fright.
The prosecution had demanded fifteen years in prison. The defendant is currently serving 22 years in prison for his involvement in a murder.
