BVB: RB Salzburg’s Kristensen is probably a candidate for the right back

Among the most valuable professionals in Austria

With 50 goals conceded, Borussia Dortmund has the weakest defense of the top 7 in the Bundesliga. In order to strengthen the defense in the coming season, the two central defenders Niklas Süle (26) and Nico Schlotterbeck (22) have already been signed. But something could also be done on the outside.

As the “picture” reported, Red Bull Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen is a candidate for the right side, even if coach Marco Rose is a “fan” of the currently injured Thomas Meunier (30). Accordingly, the 24-year-old right-back is aiming for a move to a bigger league in the summer, but should be expensive with a contract term until 2025 and given his market value. The newspaper did not name a possible transfer fee.

The Danish international, who played the most minutes for the Austrian champions this season after goalkeeper Philipp Köhn, was among the winners in the Bundesliga’s last update and increased by 2 million to 15 million euros. Another plus in addition to his long-running skills is his goal threat. In 2021/22 he has scored ten goals in 42 games across all competitions and prepared eight more.

Gladbach’s Bensebaini candidate for left back – Guerreiro & Schulz without BVB future?

Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Mönchengladbach is to come for the left back. As with Kristensen, a change of the 27-year-old will probably depend on the departure of other BVB professionals. Both Raphaël Guerreiro (contract until 2023) and Nico Schulz (until 2024) are said to have no future with the Westphalians.

Schulz, for whom BVB paid 25.5 million euros to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2019 and is therefore one of the ten most expensive commitments in the club’s history, has not managed to secure a regular place since his transfer. Since then, the market value of the 29-year-old has fallen from the previous high of EUR 25 million to currently EUR 6 million. According to reports, Dortmund would let the native of Berlin go without a major fee in order to get the professional off the payroll. Schulz’ rumored annual salary is said to be around 8 million euros. With the 28-year-old Portuguese, however, BVB have doubts that he will get his weak points in defensive work under control.

Bensebaini, who is tied until 2023, is said to cost between 12 and 15 million euros. The Algerian could thus move up into the top 5 of the most expensive sales in Mönchengladbach’s history as part of the squad change announced by the club.
