Detectives are searching in Lanaken for the victim of ‘serial killer without bodies’, who disappeared in 2017

After nine years, will there finally be progress in the case of one of the most controversial ‘cold cases’ in Limburg? A large, coordinated search operation was started this morning in a defined forest area on Bessemerstraat in Lanaken. The investigators hope to find the body of Ronald Vandereycken, a 53-year-old man from Genk who disappeared in June 2017. He was probably murdered by ‘serial killer without bodies’ Marc C., but the body was never found.
