Concerns for island nation Tonga after submarine volcanic eruption and tsunami

The eruption of the submarine volcano near the island nation of Tonga in the Pacific Ocean and the ensuing tsunami cut all telephone and internet connections to the island. It is therefore unclear what exactly the damage is in Tonga and whether there have been casualties among the 105,000 residents of the island. On social media, waves of 1.2 meters can be seen washing up towns on the island.
