With “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” ProSieben will show the first part of the prequel series of the George Lucas saga on April 29, 2022.
Naturally, when Star Wars returned to screens after 16 years, expectations were galactically high. After all, none other than “Star Wars” creator George Lucas was back on board as director and screenwriter. There was no need to worry about the music of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace either, as the legendary composer of the original soundtrack, John Williams, also returned.
Why Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is better than Star Wars:
As the name prequel suggests, it is the history of the original Star Wars films, which were released between 1977 and 1983. The action takes place approximately three decades before the events of Star Wars. The planet Naboo is under siege by the Trade Federation. The conflict should be settled by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his student Obi-Wan Kenobi.
However, nothing will come of the negotiations – because the Trade Federation is on a military confrontation course and is trying to kill the two Jedi. Their way out: Escape to the planet Tatooine — a lawless, not exactly comfortable planet. From then on, the search for spare parts for their spaceship as well as ideas for liberating the home planet begins. Meetings, some happy and some less happy, follow for the Jedi — with Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, and many others… and fate takes its course.
