Willie Nelson: “A Beautiful Time” (Review & Stream)

Blessed are those who can still get such an album for their 89th birthday! With a present from the author team Rodney Crowell/ Chris Stapleton: “I’ll Love You Till The Day I Die” or why 20 minutes sometimes last 20 years. There may be some regrets after this vita. And it’s moving how Willie Nelson celebrates his transience with a slightly battered voice in “A Beautiful Time” or “Dusty Bottles” while not forgetting the Tao-Willie (“Energy Follows Thought”).

With an unbroken sense of humour

He also writes himself and with unbroken humor, sometimes rustic (“I Don’t Go To Funerals”), sometimes sentimental: “I just wanna leave you with a smile, even though that hasn’t always been my style.”
