After the summer, the episodes should appear on the streaming service of RTL. It is then almost fourteen years ago that the popular program disappeared from the tube. “When we stopped I thought: we might do this for theater someday, but never for TV again,” Nicolai said on Friday. “But the last time we talked about it, we all thought, why not?”
Van Koningsbrugge states that the men have changed. According to him, the ‘young dogs who wanted to score’ and ‘egos’ have disappeared. “Now we are on the podium and you notice the difference: there is much more peace, you give each other something. You think much more about the whole rather than being selfish.”
Television Ring
The Lama’s made the program of the same name for BNN from 2004 to 2008. The comic improvisation show, which previously featured Arie Koomen and Sara Kroos, among others, became a great success with a Golden Televizier Ring as the award in 2006. Nicolai and Beckand in particular became big TV stars through the program.
At the tenth anniversary in 2014, a one-off reunion episode was made. The comedians made their comeback in 2017 with shows in the Ziggo Dome. Last year it was announced that Nicolai, Beckand, Van der Meer and Van Koningsbrugge continued under the name Tafkal, which stands for The artists formerly known as Llamas† This year and next year they will play in Dutch theaters several times.
