Seventy years on the throne must be celebrated, doll maker Mattel thought. And so they created a Barbie doll that looks like Queen Elizabeth. Launched on the Queen’s 96th birthday, the doll wears an ivory dress with a blue ribbon and the tiara Elizabeth wore on her wedding day.
The doll is part of Mattel’s ‘tribute’ collection. With that collection, the company wants to pay tribute to “visionary individuals who have an extraordinary impact and legacy.” Actress Lucille Ball, among others, got her own Barbie doll.
