Jong PSV handed over a 0-1 lead on Tuesday evening in the remainder of the league match against ADO Den Haag. The team of coach Ruud van Nistelrooij got stuck on a 2-2 draw. Due to the result, she does pass TOP Oss in the ranking and is now twelfth in the Kitchen Champion Division. ADO Den Haag, which insisted strongly in the final phase, can still hope for promotion to the Eredivisie.
The game was interrupted in March, because the power in the Car Jeans Stadium in The Hague was lost. The lights went out three quarters of an hour before kick-off. About an hour and a half later the problem seemed to have been solved and the match could still start. After 26 minutes it became dark again and the game was stopped. In that half hour, super talent Johan Bakayoko had helped Jong PSV to the 0-1 lead.
Tuesday evening’s game again started with a delay, because one of the light poles was not functioning optimally. For a moment, it looked as though a power outage would play tricks on the two teams again. Referee Clay Ruperti dared, however.
Thomas Verheydt equalized in the 55th minute. Nigel Thomas made sure that Jong PSV regained the lead 5 minutes later. It was again ADO top scorer Verheydt – he has already scored 29 goals in this competition – who restored the balance. He was also the only player to receive a yellow card from Ruperti.
