The new rocket attack has not been claimed but comes after a string of attacks in Israel, two by Palestinians, several “counterterrorism” operations in the occupied West Bank and a weekend of tensions in the holy sites in Jerusalem.
More than 150 Palestinians were injured Friday in clashes with Israeli forces on the grounds of the Jerusalem mosque, the third holiest site in Islam. It is also considered by the Jews as a particularly important holy site under the name Temple Mount.
Riots broke out again on Easter Sunday between Israeli security forces and Palestinians on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. At least 19 Palestinian youths were injured.
