Stars

In May, Martin Brambach spent several days in the hospital. This experience led the “Tatort” star to adopt a much more active lifestyle.

Martin Brambach (58) has transformed his daily routine. The “Tatort” actor now jogs for half an hour every morning, followed by yoga and a hundred push-ups, as he mentioned in an interview with Bild. The reason for this overhaul was a four-day hospital stay in May.

A Shift in Perspective

“Since my hospital stay, I have significantly intensified my morning exercise routine,” Brambach told the newspaper. Tennis and cycling were already part of his life, but he has now included regular visits to the gym and joined a new tennis team.

Inspiration from Others

Brambach’s newfound motivation stems not from his own ailments but from interactions with fellow patients. “During my hospital stay, I witnessed the fates of other people who shared their suffering and numerous surgeries,” he stated. “It made me realize: life is finite. This triggered something within me.”

Despite his health-focused lifestyle, Brambach has yet to quit smoking. “I hope to overcome this habit someday,” he emphasized.

Uncertainty and Optimism

In early May, Brambach informed his fans from the hospital that he had to cancel an event “for health reasons.” While he refrains from disclosing the specifics of his situation, he mentioned it was a shock for him and his family. “Thanks to my great doctors and their guidance, I recovered quickly. I feel very well now,” he shared with Bild.

Looking to the Future

With a positive outlook on the coming years, Brambach said, “I will turn 60 next year. I currently feel as though I could live to be 80 or 90.” Fans can expect to see him on screen for years to come; since 2016, he has played Chief Inspector Peter Michael Schnabel in the Dresden “Tatort,” currently alongside Cornelia Gröschel (38) as Leonie Winkler.
