Yvonne Coldeweijer, once a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, has become largely invisible to the public eye following her legal conflict with Talpa. Her online series for the media company, dubbed the Colder Cast, has not gained significant traction. It poses the question: How is it faring in today’s competitive media landscape? The consensus seems to be that “it’s just not interesting.”

The relevance and influence of Yvonne Coldeweijer have diminished significantly. Since her exclusive contract with Talpa prevents her from sharing her scoops on her Instagram account, she has opted to comply with the media giant’s demands, sacrificing her direct connection with the audience for the sake of a lucrative salary from John de Mol.
A Forced Requirement
Coldeweijer currently produces a weekly video purely out of obligation, discussing entertainment news in a series called Colder Cast. Unfortunately, it seems that almost nobody is covering it. Even Yvonne herself refrains from promoting the series through her channels, which is a clear indicator of its lack of excitement.
So, how does the Colder Cast perform? The show releases a new episode weekly on KIJK, but the enthusiasm is noticeably absent. Tina Nijkamp, a television authority, expressed her concerns in her podcast Tina’s TV Update: “I asked Talpa how many people are watching, but I don’t think they’ll provide that information. I haven’t heard back yet.”
Old News
Why doesn’t Tina expect a response? “TV networks are notoriously secretive about the viewership numbers of their streaming services, so I don’t anticipate any answers. My hunch is that the viewership isn’t high, especially since there’s so little buzz around it.”
This aligns with her logic: “The discussions feel outdated, and if you catch them on the day of upload, they often feel like yesterday’s news.”
Less Compelling
Interestingly, Tina admits to not tuning in either. “Yvonne’s strength was in her Instagram account, where she could instantly share the latest scoop. This analytical version, I think, is far less engaging compared to the immediacy of her previous updates.”
Coldeweijer’s contract with Talpa is set to expire on September 1, 2027, raising questions about her future in the entertainment industry and whether a change in direction might revive her appeal.
