The eerie series of fires in Staaken never ends. On Wednesday there was another fire in the Heerstraße Nord high-rise estate.
The fire brigade was called to Obstallee 6 at around 7 p.m. to an eight-story high-rise building. The arsonists had apparently struck again and set fire to basement shacks.
The fire brigade was on site with over 80 firefighters to fight the fire. The smoke had spread through stairways and basement connections. According to the fire department, the fire was quickly extinguished.
One person was spotted by the emergency services, but was able to remain at the scene.
A specialist commissioner is investigating the exact cause of the fire.

For months there have been fires in the settlement, mostly in basement shacks. Most recently on April 2nd in Maulbeerallee.
The police are looking for the gang of arsonists with the specially created investigation group “Quartier”.
Shortly thereafter, the fire brigade had to move out to Bismarckstraße 63 in Spandau. Smoke developed in a residential building. The fire brigade was on site with 18 emergency services. According to the first information, it was compressed smoke. The fire brigade checked several apartments to see whether they were full of smoke and whether residents were at risk. According to initial findings, no one was injured.
