Ski stars celebrate wedding in Italy

Ski racer Michelle Gisin was seriously injured in the winter. Six months later she is celebrating a positive climax.

Michelle Gisin and Luca De Aliprandini got married. After their engagement in 2024, the Swiss Olympic champion and the Italian ski racer now also said yes in church. The celebration took place at the weekend in Riva del Garda (Italy), where the couple has lived together for years.

Therefore, the originally planned celebration had to be adjusted. At the end of April, Gisin said: “We have scaled down the celebration.” She further explained: “It will be shorter and less tall than planned. It will still be beautiful.”

A couple since 2014

The guests included numerous current and former ski stars. Former downhill skiers Peter Fill, Giovanni Borsotti, Jasmina Suter and Filip Zubcic were at the celebrations.

Michelle Gisin and Luca De Aliprandini have been a couple since 2014. During this time they experienced sporting successes together, but also difficult phases. In an earlier interview, the couple revealed: “We separated briefly at the beginning of our relationship.”

In 2018 they both moved to Riva del Garda together. That same year, Gisin won her first Olympic gold medal. De Aliprandini celebrated silver in the 2021 World Championships Giant slalom one of the greatest successes of his career.
