Ramiro Valdés, a close associate of the brothers Fidel and Raúl Castro, has died at the age of 94. This was announced by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel. The Castros were leading figures in the Cuban revolution, which ended in 1959 with the deposition of dictator Fulgencio Batista.
