Neither did my girlfriend.” The manager of the L’Amitié café, Gilles Verhaeghe (34) from Kortrijk in West Flanders, is still very impressed the day after a reckless motorcyclist hit three customers on his terrace on the Grote Markt. Three people in their thirties from Kortrijk were injured in the collision and the motorcyclist (25) from Menen saw his motorcycle seized. “He will probably not receive a prison sentence,” said traffic law specialist Frédéric Busschaert, who assesses the possible legal consequences.
