CThere are those who started to learn how to manage anxiety and those who simply started because they heard about it everywhere. Then, almost always, something happens: yoga stops being a lesson on the mat and becomes an appointment with oneself. June 21st, the day of the summer solstice, is celebrated International Yoga Day, established by the United Nations in 2014 to promote a discipline that unites body, mind and spirit. In 2026 the anniversary reaches its twelfth edition and has as its theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging”, a message that underlines how the practice can accompany well-being in every stage of life.

Why practice yoga

During the practice the attention returns to the breathing, the movements, the sensations of the body. Yoga is not a flexibility competition and does not reward performance. Indeed, it teaches you to respect your body exactly for what it is, in that moment. It also teaches you to breathe before reacting, to listen before judging, to slow down before going on automatic. It’s a small daily revolution that can make the difference when we feel overwhelmed by commitments, worries or emotions that are difficult to manage.
