“The Odyssey” is about to premiere – and lead actor Matt Damon celebrated by squeezing into a Trojan horse, to sneak onto the stage of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

While host Jimmy Kimmel was delivering his final monologue before the annual summer break, he was interrupted by a delivery driver who brought along a giant wooden horse and a slightly smaller one. Kimmel played the surprised man – even when the driver insisted on bringing the smaller horse to the studio. “I didn’t order this horse,” he said. “I don’t know what this is about. We’re doing a show right now.”

Then Damon jumped out of the horse to loud applause. “I don’t want that horse in here,” Kimmel told Damon. “The horse is in and there’s no turning back, bitch,” Damon replied. “I did it!”

Damon vs. Kimmel

“I have traveled far, through waves and war, to save this audience from mediocrity,” he added.

“This is trespassing,” Kimmel said. “It’s another crime you’re committing here.”

“Your face is a crime,” Damon countered. He explained that he stopped by to promote “The Odyssey” – Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film project, which hits theaters on July 17th.

Pool noodles and insults

“Oh my God. Did you make this movie specifically so you could sneak into this room in a Trojan horse?” Kimmel asked. “That’s the saddest thing I’ve ever heard. What a failure you are.”

The appearance eventually escalated into a pool noodle brawl between the two after Damon insulted Kimmel’s parents and Kimmel insisted that this stunt in no way meant Damon was a guest on the show. “Everyone at home, you can wake up now,” Damon said. “Because the show is finally, finally good for about a minute.”

A feud since 2005

Damon and Kimmel have been at loggerheads since 2005. The feud began when Kimmel introduced a running gag on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in which he pretended to write Damon off the show due to time constraints. “I want to apologize to Matt Damon, we ran out of time,” the late night host joked. Since then, the two have continued the back and forth – sometimes involving the likes of Ben Affleck.

Last year, Damon appeared on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” which Kimmel hosted. Damon and his playing partner Ken Jennings ended up winning $1 million for Damon’s nonprofit Water.org, which provides clean water to communities in need. “This is the most dramatic million-dollar moment in the history of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,'” Kimmel said as they clinched the win.
