Tina Nijkamp has been banning the editors of Today Inside for a month from broadcasting the infamous images of her singing the Michael Jackson song Beat It very out of tune. “That’s very embarrassing.”
On an apparently drunken evening in Curaçao, TV authority Tina Nijkamp decided to let herself go completely. She took part in a karaoke evening, singing the Michael Jackson classic Beat It in a legendary off-key manner. What she didn’t know at the time was that a camera crew from RTL Boulevard was there and shot all kinds of images.
Karaoke ban
Rob Goossens used those images to extensively embarrass Tina on television and she was not happy with that. In fact, she banned her own Today Inside from broadcasting the images.
And that karaoke ban still stands, as was evident from last night’s broadcast. “There are all kinds of people who want to know, Tina, why we are not allowed to see your karaoke performance,” Wilfred Genee explains to her.
Quite embarrassing
Tina doesn’t want to be reminded. “Oh. Well, that was really quite embarrassing. I was one of the first and I had no lyrics. That’s right! I was in that start-up and I was one of the first and it wasn’t quite set up yet. I was made to look like a fool. There was a camera from Boulevard and they filmed it then.”
She continues: “That’s why it was filmed, because it wasn’t supposed to be filmed in the first place, because of course I didn’t feel like it at all. Anyway, it was filmed and I found it really embarrassing.”
‘Don’t do that’
Wilfred apparently has Tina’s images ready. “So we shouldn’t do it?” he asks.
Tina: “I’d rather not.”
Wilfred: “We don’t have it either, I don’t think.”
Johan Derksen: “No, we do have it, but we don’t do it. If you don’t want that, then…”
Tina: “Okay, great!”
Wilfred: “Tina, the images have been found.”
Tina: “Oh, well, maybe another time.”
Another time
Wilfred spares Tina. “No, I also think… If Tina really doesn’t want it…”
Tina: “I’d rather not. Another time.”
Johan: “No, but I think we should respect that.”
Wilfred: “We don’t do that with anyone else. Only with Tina!”
Johan: “Because you also look like an idiot.”
Tina concludes: “Yes, I really feel like an idiot. I really feel like an idiot.”
