Despite the DFB team’s 7-1 win against Curacao, there could be changes in the starting line-up. At least that’s what the users of the sports show are demanding. Things will be particularly tight for Leroy Sané.
In Germany, world championships are always the time of around 80 million national coaches. Every football enthusiast has an opinion about the DFB team, especially when it comes to the selection of the kicking staff, opinions often differ widely.
After the 7-1 win in the opening game against Curacao, it currently seems rather unlikely that Julian Nagelsmann – the only national coach with decision-making power – will change his starting line-up. With Bastian Schweinsteiger, Robin Gosens and Almuth Schult, three of the sports show’s four experts would also send the same eleven players onto the field again. However, the fans see it differently.
On the Sportschau’s Instagram channel, the community was able to choose between three line-up variants and like the favorite. The result is clear and definitely not a good sign for Leroy Sané.
Fans vote for changes to the starting eleven
The winner of the voting is clearly Deniz Undav. By far the most users want the Stuttgart striker to appear not just as a joker and joker, but as part of the starting eleven. Undav in the front, Kai Havertz hanging a little and the creative duo Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala together in the control center. Doesn’t sound bad at first. Or, as they say on Instagram: No Undav, no Party!
The community’s desired lineup
Almost 4,500 users now have the same opinion as sports show expert Thomas Hitzlsperger. The former Stuttgart player wants exactly a change and a little more VfB vibes in the team: Jamie Leweling replaces Sané on the right wing. A suggestion that is obviously well received by a large number of fans. “Leweling running down the wing” on the two!
The “Nagelsmann variant”, i.e. the line-up for the first game, received by far the least approval with just 700 likes. Despite the convincing performance, very few people want to see the same formation again. Never change a winning team? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that.
