Julian Brandt ended his chapter at Borussia Dortmund this summer. It is still unclear where the midfielder will continue his career. A new track now leads to the Premier League.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are said to be looking into the BVB star. Brandt was considered there as a possible reinforcement in order to attack the European places in the coming season.

There was also recent interest in Brandt from Atlético Madrid, AS Roma and Galatasaray.

The representative of national goalkeeper Oliver Baumann remains loyal to the Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim. Substitute keeper Luca Philipp has extended his expiring contract with the Kraichgauer team. The Europa League participant did not provide any information about the duration.

“Luca has been an important part of TSG for years and has earned his status on and off the pitch with good performances, great ambition and high professionalism,” said sports director Andreas Schicker about the 25-year-old.

Philipp moved from SGV Freiberg to the TSG youth team in 2013. The Stuttgart native went through all the youth teams and has been part of the professional team since 2020. Philipp has appeared for Hoffenheim six times in the Bundesliga and once each in the DFB Cup and the Europa League.

Borussia Mönchengladbach has signed the Japanese Zento Uno. The midfielder comes from Japanese first division club Shimizu S-Pulse and has a contract until the summer of 2030. The club did not provide any information about the transfer fee.

“Zento is a defensive-minded, tactically disciplined, strong duel and running midfielder with the greatest strengths when playing against the ball,” said Gladbach’s sports director Rouven Schröder: “After two seasons in the J-League and his first appearances in the Japanese national team, the move to the Bundesliga is the next, but also demanding, step for him.”

Uno made his debut for Japan last summer. However, he is not in his country’s squad for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

“I always wanted to play in the Bundesliga,” said the 22-year-old: “Borussia is a big club that is very well known in Japan because of its Japanese players.”
