Three days with revving engines in the capital: from 3 to 5 July the Rally di Roma Capitale takes place, valid for the FIA European Rally Championship and for the Italian Absolute Rally Sparco Championship. The event was presented today in the Campidoglio, in the presence, among others, of the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, the president of Coni Luciano Buonfiglio, the councilor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome Alessandro Onorato, the councilor for Tourism, Environment, Sport of the Lazio Region Elena Palazzo and the president of Aci Geronimo La Russa.

teamwork

“In this edition of the Rally there are three iconic elements of the city, history with the Colosseum, rationality with the EUR, spirituality with St. Peter’s, but I also appreciate that internal areas such as Viterbo and Rieti will have the opportunity to make themselves known also thanks to this sporting event. I am convinced that we should appreciate more the beauty of the places and people of the internal areas. More generally we should know how to enhance the beauty of Italy as a destination even more”, said Abodi. Max Rendina, creator of the event, was very satisfied: “Creating an event like this requires enormous team work and a shared vision. Bringing a rally to the heart of Rome means working in a context that is unique in the world, extraordinary, extremely complex. For this I want to thank first of all the Lazio Region, which has supported us since the beginning of this journey, and the Ministry for Sport, which is at our side in a project that unites sport, territory and international promotion. A special thanks goes to Roma Capitale and to the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion, in the person of Councilor Alessandro Onorato, who from the beginning understood the value of the Colosseum operation, also with a concrete and entrepreneurial sensitivity regarding the return of image for the city”.

the program

The heart of the city will in fact be the protagonist like never before: on Friday 3 July the crews will cross the historic center in an evocative parade that will take them from the Assistance Park to the Eur to the Colosseum, with an official starting ceremony at 8pm from Via degli Annibaldi, followed by the special show stage “Colosseo – Aci Roma” in the Colle Oppio area with the symbolic monument of the city as a backdrop. The finale of the event will also be completely renewed: for the first time the podium will be hosted in Via della Conciliazione, in front of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Frecce Tricolori in the sky (at 6.30 pm on Sunday 5 July). The operations center will instead be in Eur. The route will particularly affect the Rieti area, but a return to Ciociaria is already planned for 2027.
