Hannover 96 relies on continuity in goal and extends the contract with Leo Weinkauf. At least until when the 29-year-old will stay.

Hannover 96 has extended the contract with substitute goalkeeper Leo Weinkauf. As the second division soccer team announced, the 29-year-old will remain with the club until June 30, 2028. Weinkauf has been under contract with Hannover 96 since 2018 and is therefore the longest-serving professional at 96.

At that time he moved from the second selection of FC Bayern Munich to the Lower Saxony state capital. Since then, the reserve goalkeeper has played four games for the professionals and 36 for the second selection of the 96ers. In between, he was a loan player at MSV Duisburg between 2019 and 2022.
