Recommendations of the Editorial team
The Southside Festival 2026 brings visitors three days of strong summer weather with temperatures up to 35 degrees. There is a lot of sun and hardly any clouds. The peak of the scorching heat is expected on Sunday. There is a risk of thunderstorms on Friday.
The organizers are already warning visitors about the heat and strongly recommend drinking enough water, using sunscreen and wearing hats. As always, there are free water stations on site on the festival grounds. At temperatures above 30 degrees, a fluid intake of three liters is recommended.
The thermometer climbs loudly on all three days German Weather Service over 30 degrees. This is what the weather will be like on each festival day:
FRIDAY (June 19)
The weather is humid, warm and unsettled with up to 31 degrees. There is an increased risk of local summer thunderstorms, especially during the journey and the first concerts. The sun will shine almost continuously over the Neuhausen ob Eck airfield, but there will be hardly any wind. Rain is not expected later.
SATURDAY (June 20)
Also on Saturday the temperature climbed to over 30 degrees. In the afternoon it can also feel like it’s up to 37 degrees. There is bright sunshine almost all day and hardly any clouds. It remains very dry and oppressively hot until late in the evening. Even at night there is hardly any cooling down.
SUNDAY (June 21)
The unusually strong heat will continue on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to still reach 30 to 34 degrees. In addition to longer sunny phases, more clouds will pass through, and the increasing humidity in the afternoon or evening could encourage isolated warm thunderstorms.
How do you protect yourself from the heat?
It’s best to bring empty, foldable drinking bottles or Tetra Paks up to 1 liter with you to fill up at the free drinking water points on site. The organizer recommends wearing light, airy clothing made of breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen and protecting your head with a cap. In order not to expose the skin to too much stress, we recommend a waterproof sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (at least 30, more likely 50). Free sun protection is provided on site. Ideally, direct sunlight should be avoided at midday. Anyone who drinks alcoholic beverages should drink water regularly afterwards to prevent dehydration and circulatory problems in the mosh pit.
