Jimmy Kimmel takes aim at Trump’s disastrous decision to paint the Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC a shade of blue which he calls “American Flag Blue”.
“Trump reportedly poured $14 million into renovating the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall,” Kimmel said. “He wanted to resurface and repaint it because he didn’t like the look of it. He wanted it that flag blue. That was the color. The project was completed last week. And now, less than a week later, it’s already completely green.”
He continued: “Mexican flag green. The White House talks about ‘residual algae’. They have workers there who pour in liters of hydrogen peroxide – which, by the way, he also bleaches his hair with.”
Trump’s expensive swamp
Kimmel explained that the dark blue apparently causes the water to retain more heat – and thus promotes algae growth. “He promised to drain the swamp,” Kimmel said. “Instead, he built a new one for $14 million of our dollars. Next thing he knows, he moves St. Patrick’s Day to July and claims the greenery is intentional.”
The moderator followed up: “The man owns hotels. If there’s one thing he should be able to do, it’s keeping a pool clean. He can’t even do that.”
Of course, Fox News is trying to sugarcoat the matter. Kimmel played a clip in which a reporter claimed that “no other president” had renovated the reflecting pool. “True,” Kimmel countered. “Nobody. Sorry. Abraham Lincoln wouldn’t have done it. He wouldn’t have been able to do it. He just didn’t have the courage to do it.”
Algae in league with Antifa?
Kimmel then showed a clip of a reporter from Real America’s Voice News claiming there was something sinister behind the algae. “My God, the algae are working with Antifa,” Kimmel responded. “Case solved.”
And he concluded: “Of all the many stupid and crazy problems that Donald Trump has caused – I would never have thought of algae.”
