Easter, the competition to see who eats the most eggs
Starting from our country there is the Palio dell’uovo of Tredozioin the Forlì areaa competition to see who eats the most preceded by beating hard-boiled eggs, a practice that was believed to bring good luck. Easter Monday, however, is day of the challenge between the four districts on the tug-of-war, with shots of raw eggs.
The “Explosion of the cart” in Florence
Easter Sunday Florence celebrates the “Explosion of the Cart”. It is a tradition that goes back 350 years and foresees that a decorated chariot, pulled by a pair of oxen and followed by a procession in historical clothes, reaches the Cathedral. At this point, during the mass, the archbishop lights a fuse who flies from the high altar to the chariot, giving way to one extraordinary fireworks display.

On the morning of Holy Saturday a Corfu, Greece, locals and tourists alike know that it will be impossible to sleep. Tradition has it that people, in fact, throw pots and pans out the window and other terracotta objects to ward off bad luck. Tourists must collect the pieces that are believed to bring good luck.
In Finland the blessing of little witches
On Palm Sunday and Holy Saturday, in Finland, children dress up as Easter witches and they are the ones who bless house by house offering willow twigs decorated with colorful feathers and crepe paper in exchange for treats.
In Norwayinstead, Easter is dedicated to thrillers. Tradition has it that on this day people read, watch and listen to crime stories and crime thrillers during the holidays.
To Bermuda flying kites
On the British island of Bermuda the celebrations begin on Good Friday with KiteFest on Horseshoe Bay Beach. Here residents and tourists gather to show and fly their handcrafted homemade kites. At the end, there is the award ceremony.
The Easter Bonnet Parade New York
Exhibiting the strangest hats the Easter Bonnet Parade on New York’s 5th Avenue is a tradition that dates back to 1870. Here everyone’s creativity must have no limits and, in fact, it does not. In fact, they can be seen hats with piles of eggs on top, with bird cages or even with live animals. The most original and surprising works are then judged by an elite jury.
