A peace deal has been reached between the US and Iran. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reported this on X. This will be signed by both countries on June 19 in Switzerland.
According to Sharif, both sides have announced an “immediate and definitive end to military activities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”
Via Truth Social US President Trump responded almost immediately: ‘The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran has now been completed. Congratulations everyone! “I hereby give my full consent to the free passage of the Strait of Hormuz and at the same time authorize the immediate lifting of the blockade by the US Navy.” And he concludes his message with: ‘Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!’
Meetings planned
Prime Minister and mediator Sharif also thanked the partners involved at X. He speaks of the “outstanding leaders of the State of Qatar” and the “visionary leaders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey.”
He reports that the mediators are facilitating a series of meetings this week that will “lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”
