Scammers contacted Pekka Hyysalo. Jussi Saarinen
Former freestyle skier Pekka Hyysalo tells on his Facebook account how he has been the target of a scam.
– This has been expected. They tried to take advantage of my gullibility.
On Friday, Hyysalo was approached by a US agent. This said that he was convinced by Hyysalo’s story High Performance thanks to the podcast episode. The agent wanted to help with foreign performances, the first big clients were already waiting for an offer.
– I thought, “Yes! This has been expected!”, he writes in his publication.
If the publication is not visible, you can view it from here.
Next, the agent needed Hyysalo’s resume for the offer. However, it didn’t work as it was, instead the agent connected Hyysalo to a British agency where you could buy a professionally made resume that met all international standards.
Hyysalo was in contact with the British agency. Everything seemed fine until he got the first bill.
– The bill looked wrong, and when I told them about it, they thanked me for my attention and then the next bill came. I tried to pay it, but luckily Danske Bank wouldn’t let me make the payment, he describes.
The agent continued to press because of the rush. Hyysalo announced that he was not available and blocked the e-mail addresses.
It was close
Hyysalo is grateful that he has not been the target of a scam before.
– I can speak to large audiences and I know that I have something to say. I believe I can spread positivity very widely. That is why I am very grateful that I have been spared from scams until now. Especially considering how gullible I am.
– It was a near miss, but fortunately there is information security.
At the very end, Hyysalo states in his publication that it is better to focus on stretching and settle for only reliable sources of income.
