Erdoğan published a video message for the National Football Team that will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Addressing the players of the National Football Team, Erdoğan said, “Our World Cup journey, which we are eagerly awaiting as a nation, begins with the Australia match tomorrow. The excitement of this first World Cup, which we will experience after 24 years, has surrounded our country. Every individual of 86 million people, from Edirne to Kars, from Sinop to Hatay, from Istanbul to Diyarbakır, united in the same feeling today.” he said.
President Erdoğan said, “You are the children of Türkiye, who carried our star and crescent flag to the world’s biggest stage. When you step on the field, you will carry the prayers, hope, history and pride of this nation on your shoulders. You will feel the support of our nation from the moment you step on the field in the matches you will play tomorrow and later.” he said.
Emphasizing that even though they are thousands of kilometers away, hearts will beat for the National Football Team in every household, street and square of Türkiye, Erdoğan said:
“To this day, ‘It’s not over until we say it’s over.’ We have witnessed many times that you did not stop fighting with the understanding and what you achieved for Türkiye. The memory of the pride we felt in coming third in the 2002 World Cup still lives in our hearts. Now is the time to write a new epic, hopefully we will write this epic together.
