Markus Krösche is said to be a candidate for a management position at the crisis-ridden AC Milan. What this means for his current contract in Frankfurt is still unclear.

According to consistent media reports, AC Milan has Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche in its sights as a possible candidate for a vacant leadership position. The Italian top club is looking for a replacement after dismissing several executives following a disappointing season – including coach Massimiliano Allegri as well as managing director, sports director and technical director.

The Italian sports newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport” first reported on the interest. The “Kicker” and transfer experts Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the rumors. According to “Kicker”, Krösche himself initially did not want to comment on the matter.

The 45-year-old has been sports director at Eintracht Frankfurt for five years and still has a contract until 2028. In addition to him, Milan is also said to have 58-year-old Ramon Planes on the list – most recently sports director at Al-Ittihad. Then comes Devin Özek: The 31-year-old was most recently sports director at Fenerbahçe Istanbul.

A lot is also happening in the coaching chair. Oliver Glasner is considered a possible Allegri successor. From 2021 to 2025 he was a coach at Eintracht Frankfurt. Most recently, he led Crystal Palace to victory in the Conference League – the first European title in the club’s history.

He announced his departure from the Premier League club early on. According to Romano, there is still no agreement with Milan. According to the “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Austria’s national coach Ralf Rangnick had already decided against moving to the Rossoneri – but he was therefore not intended as a coach anyway.
