The eighteen year old Marina, orphaned and adopted as a newbornhe needs a document certifying his Spanish origin for his studies. To obtain it he can only go to his father’s parents who live in Galicia, in Vigo, but behind that bureaucratic necessity lies the desire to know more about the family that brought her into the world.

So, armed with her mother’s diary and a small camera, she begins her search, immediately coming up against a reserve that hides embarrassment and fear: his parents had rejected the bourgeois horizon from which they came to seek a freedom that had ended up losing them.

First drugs and then AIDS had ruined their lives, which Marina then rebuilds with the desperation of those who feel the need to confront their past, but also with a desire to know and understand that will end up intertwining memories with the present.

Thus managing to bring out what the good name of his father’s family was ashamed ofan easy metaphor for a country that has often tried to forget what it left behind, even the years of “nightlife” with its aftermath of drugs and deaths.
