Former HSV striker Sergej Barbarez narrowly missed out on a win with Bosnia-Herzegovina at the start of the World Cup. The national coach’s team led 1-0 for a long time against co-hosts Canada after a goal from Jovo Lukic (21st), but in the end had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Toronto.

Penalty order after drunk driving: High fine for HSV professional
French professional footballer Jean-Luc Dompé is the victim of his drunk driving last January Hamburger SV to be expensive again. The Hamburg-Mitte district court had issued a penalty order for 70 daily rates, a court spokesman said upon request and confirmed a report by “Bild”.
The spokesman for the German Press Agency did not give an exact amount. However, the number of daily rates suggests a high five-figure amount. The “Bild” reported a fine of 100,000 euros and a one-year driving license revocation. The penalty order is not yet legally binding. Dompé has two weeks to file an objection.
Dompé was caught driving drunk during a police traffic stop and was taken to a police station. According to several media reports, the blood alcohol level was said to be around 1.4. When he left the station, he was observed by police officers as he continued to ride an e-scooter. That led to a second trial.

New HSV contract for son of well-known TV presenter
Hamburger SV has extended the contract with Jonathan Bommes. The Hanseatic people announced this via Instagram on Thursday. “We look forward to continuing our journey with you, dear Jonathan,” the club wrote in the message. The club also shows several photos of Bommes in the HSV jersey.
