16 pallets of ammonia were found in a shipping container on an industrial estate in Valkenswaard on Friday afternoon. This concerns 9600 liters of ammonia. The emergency services are investigating where the ammonia comes from and what it should be used for.
The sea container with the pallets of ammonia in it is located on an industrial estate on the Vest. The municipality, BOA, fire brigade and police came to the site.
On Friday evening, an officer said that this amount of ammonia in these circumstances ‘does not comply with the standard’. It is not clear whether that also means it is illegal.
A car near the container is being searched by the police on Friday evening. A specialized company comes to the site to clean up the ammonia.
